Hollywood Hate Goes Unpunished … Again
Meryl Streep warned us about newly sworn-in President Donald Trump’s tone during a blistering Golden Globes speech four years ago.
She leaned on a dash of Fake News in the process.
What Streep didn’t realize at the time was how her Hollywood peers would trump the unorthodox leader in the hate department, and then some.
We’ve had four years of unexpurgated rage against both President Trump and his supporters from Hollywood, the kind Streep warned us would come from the Oval Office.
The latest blasts come from two of the usual suspects — Alec Baldwin and George Takei.
Baldwin’s anger management issues should have canceled his career years ago. Instead, he keeps on working in both TV and film projects. His latest outburst sets a new standard, even for him.
Baldwin used Twitter, which he routinely quits and rejoins, to suggest the punishment President Trump deserves if he doesn’t leave office in an orderly manner on Jan. 20, 2021.
“Who arrests Trump if he refuses to concede? Who drags him out? Pepper spray? Cuffs? A knee on his neck, cutting off his oxygen? Does he wheeze ‘I can’t breathe.’ Just whale away on him like a piñata? Rodney King style? The thug who has destroyed the country. What does he deserve?”
It’s the kind of hateful rhetoric Kareem Abdul-Jabbar insists only gets uttered by right-leaning celebrities.
What’s revealing about modern Hollywood hate, though, is that it often doesn’t connect to President Trump’s pugilistic nature.
Consider “Star Trek” alum George Takei’s recent slam against a prominent GOP member. The veteran actor attacked Sen. Marco Rubio after the Florida Republican received a COVID-19 vaccine. A very select few have suffered severe allergic reactions to the medication.
Now, Takei hopes it happens to Rubio.
“There are very, very few instances of known allergic reactions to the Covid-19 vaccine, but Marco Rubio has always thought of himself as one in a million so there’s still hope,” Takei wrote.
Hope, eh?
Just standard operating procedure for Hollywood at this moment in our culture. It goes without saying that:
- Mainstream media outlets ignored this double barrel of hate
- Neither Takei nor Baldwin will suffer professionally
- Cancel Culture, which theoretically would cancel folks for such ugliness, is standing down
All of the above should be said, over and again, to showcase the galling hypocrisy of both Hollywood elites and the woke mob.
