First Trailer for Wes Anderson’s ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar Trailer

“His name was Henry Sugar. I think people ought to know a bit about what he has done for the world…” Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for this year’s other new Wes Anderson film (after Asteroid City), this one called The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. It’s an adaptation of a Roald Dahl short story, part of Netflix’s big deal with the Roald Dahl estate to adapt his stories. The 37-minute medium-length film tells the story about a rich man who learns about a guru who can see without using his eyes and then sets out to master the skill in order to cheat at gambling. This one recently premiered at the 2023 Venice Film Festival a few weeks ago, earning positive reviews from most critics. Anderson’s take on Henry Sugar stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Mr. Sugar, along with Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, Ben Kingsley, Richard Ayoade, Rupert Friend, and Saif Mohsen. It’s short and sweet, which is just what we need with a film like this, a parable about greed and the lessons we’re meant to learn along the way. Recommended viewing. // Continue Reading ›
