Netflix’s Teaser Trailer for Sam Esmail’s ‘Leave the World Behind’ Film

Leave the World Behind Trailer

“The truth is much scarier.” “What is the truth…?” Netflix has revealed a first look teaser trailer for a film called Leave the World Behind, another mysterious thriller about our apocalyptic future. This sounds and looks a lot like the M. Night Shyamalan film Knock at the Cabin from earlier this year, with a few other things going on. A family’s vacation to a remote corner of Long Island is upended when two strangers arrive at night, seeking refuge from a cyberattack that grows more terrifying by the minute, forcing everyone to come to terms with their places in a collapsing world. They claim there is a blackout causing chaos in the city – but without TV or internet, they can’t verify them. Do they trust them? What is really going on? From “Mr. Robot” creator Sam Esmail, Leave the World Behind stars Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Myha’la, Farrah Mackenzie, Charlie Evans, and Kevin Bacon. The film also features a score by Mac Quayle. It’s set to open in theaters and on Netflix this fall after premiering at AFI Fest first this month. I’m all about this! Looks like it gets super intense out there, and doesn’t shy away from showing us a glimpse at the really terrifying events of our planet finally coming apart.
