WORKPLACE COMEDY PODCAST
A lot of podcasts are fans yammering about their nerdy interests, but not Workplace Comedy Podcast. It’s an improvised comedy podcast that’s part interview and part geeky talent show with a strong narrative element. Described as a mix of The Office and Waiting for Guffman, this quirky podcast directed by Emmy Laybourne (Superstar) stars Lea Moreno (Monk) and Paul F. Tompkins (BoJack Horseman).
MANUFACTURED LUCK
Kevin Keck (American Letters) writes and directs Manufactured Luck, a short film loosely based on Keck’s biological grandfathers. A drama about the strained relationship between a grandfather and his granddaughter, Manufactured Luck is going to be shot with a local East Tennessee based crew.
ZAYNAB THE GREAT AND THE GIANT PLASTIC MONSTER
A dangerous plastic monster in the ocean throws Zaynab the Great’s friends into danger in Zaynab the Great and the Giant Plastic Monster by Suzie Hicks with illustrations by Nandi L. Fernandez. Hicks also narrates the audiobook.
MELISSA CENTER IS… MARRYING JAKE GYLLENHAAL
Melissa Center writes and stars in Melissa Center is… Marrying Jake Gyllenhaal. This campaign is for a filmed version of the comedic one-woman musical inspired by an obsessive email chain between Melissa and her mother.
OBSCURA
Obscura is a feature combining action, horror, and science-fiction from writer-director Jerry D. Angelo (American Warfighter). Hell breaks loose when a CIA ops team investigates what killed their comrades.
THE DOWAGER (ROCKY MOUNTAIN MYTHOLOGY)
Lucy and Max Nebeker write and direct this western short film with a female lead about a rural couple struggling with the afterlife. Shot by locals from the Rocky Mountain Region, The Dowager is the third film of the Rocky Mountain Mythology Trilogy.
FRANK & EMMET
A man and his puppet have an existential conversation and sing a song in this short film from Latinx writer-director Carlos F. Puertolas (Trolls World Tour). Featuring an original song from Kyler England (Grey’s Anatomy) and a score by Tony Morales (Elena of Avalor), Frank & Emmet is a moving love letter to creativity.
