Columbine Memorial in Littleton, Colorado

Columbine Memorial

On April 20, 1999, two Columbine High School seniors entered the school heavily armed and killed 12 students and one teacher in what became one of the most tragic events in United States’ history.

In 2007, a memorial was unveiled in Clement Park behind Columbine High School. The memorial is a peaceful place of reflection and remembrance. It features an outer wall, the Wall of Healing, which is inlaid with plaques etched with statements by the survivors and families of the victims.

The low inner stone wall, the Ring of  Remembrance, contains memories of the victims by their families. At the heart of the memorial is a ribbon etched with the phrase “Never Forgotten.”

This solemn, yet poignant site offers a place to reflect on the tragedy and learn about the victims from those who knew them best.
